After Conditions

Our goal was to create "an ocean view" in this simple East Village Bedroom. We added a mixture of fun whimsical items with luxurious and timeless touches. Here are the key tips for creating the space: 1- The Oceanfront Mural: We installed our own photographic mural creating a dramatic focal wall which acts as the headboard. Using an image taken by Megan in her hometown, and through the magic of Photoshop and basic cutting and pasting, we transformed a simple digital image into a fresh new art installation. 2- The windows: Without any molding to define the space, we decided to paint on the architectural detail and by adding Roman shades with the orange fabric trim from Hable Construction, we bring some extra life into the space. 3-Bedding: The use of natural yet luxurious bedding from Archipelago brings a feeling of elegance. 4- Storage: Adding large pull out baskets under the bed adds much needed storage space. 5- Bring the outside in: We brought a lot of greens and small garden moments to bring life into the formerly bland room. 6-Display their personality: By creating a montage of art and well placed objects, once forgotten or unnoticed pieces now become a dynamic part of the room.
